Program Guidelines (at School)

  1. Specific program location information (classroom number, auditorium, etc.) must be given to KGMB staff prior to program date.
  2. Any special needs instructions (language, physical, behavioral) should be given to KGMB staff prior to the program date.
  3. Be sure that students are prepared and seated by the scheduled start time of the program.
  4. At least one teacher must be present for the duration of the program.
  5. All students will be expected to participate in the program, encourage students to get involved and have fun.
  6. Students are more likely to retain the information presented if the activities or worksheets provided by KGMB staff are utilized by teachers following the presentation.
  7. Please complete the evaluation form provided by KGMB staff.  This is very valuable as we continue to provide environmental education opportunities for schools.

 

Field Trip Guidelines

  1. Schools must submit the Memorandum of Understanding by the scheduled date of the program. (Click here to download the Memorandum of Understanding)   
  2. Arrange bus pick up to allow enough time to arrive at KGMB at scheduled program time.
  3. Any special needs instructions (language, physical, behavioral) should be given to KGMB staff prior to the program date.
  4. Student name tags are recommended for KGMB staff to be able to address students by name.
  5. Make sure students are prepared for the field trip (no running, follow instructions, etc.)
  6. Make sure students come prepared to enter the Milwaukee Recycling Facility (warm clothes in cooler weather are suggested, however close-toed shoes are required at all times)
  7. Parking is available in lot south of KGMB building.  Enter in West door with your students and you will be met by KGMB staff.
  8. At least one teacher must be present for every 15 students for the duration of the program.
  9. All students will be expected to participate in the program, encourage students to get involved and have fun.
