Wipe Out Wireless Waste

Help the Environment and KGMB by joining the
“Wipe Out Wireless Waste”
Campaign

  • Cell Phone Recycling…
    • Decreases need for mining of natural resources
    • Prevents electronic waste, commonly called e-waste, from going into landfills. E-waste which ends up in landfills has the potential to contaminate ground water supplies.
  • How can you help?
    • Drop off your used cell phone in our collection bin next time you visit us at KGMB ( 1313 W. Mount Vernon Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53233)
    • Click the “Print Label” button below, choose WI, choose Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful, and print off a pre-paid shipping label. Wrap cell phones and accessories in newspaper, including chargers and batteries, seal in an envelope or small box, attach label, and drop in the mail. It’s free!

  • The “Wipe Out Wireless Waste” campaign makes it easy for you to help the environment by recycling your used cell phones and generates money for KGMB’s environmental education programs.
  • “Cell phone recycling and wireless recycling programs keep valuable materials out of landfills, including an estimated $630,000 of precious metals from circuit boards, and enough copper from phone chargers to recover the Statue of Liberty, twice.”-fact courtesy of ReCellular
