BIG Clean MKE is a year-round effort to continuously maintain cleaner, healthier neighborhoods and reduce litter.

To promote sustainability, green buckets will be provided for litter pickup and a limited number of garbage bags will be supplied for emptying the buckets.  If you are a neighborhood group that does regular cleanups, green buckets will be given to you and will not have to be returned.  Smaller groups and groups not doing reoccurring cleanups will be asked to return the buckets upon completion of their cleanup.

KGMB will loan supplies for your cleanup (rakes, brooms, shovels, etc.) March 1st – October 31st of each year. Site Coordinator Registration Forms are online.  Please click here.

 

 

If you would like to join an existing community cleanup or beautification event in the Greater Milwaukee Area, simply check out our calendar at www.kgmb.org. On it you will find the dates, locations and contact information for each cleanup. The calendar is updated as site coordinators register their cleanups.

Community Kickoff Day:  Saturday, April 17th is Community Kickoff Day. Organize your own cleanup or join any of the other existing organized cleanup events going on throughout the city. 

 

Site Coordinator Information:

A site coordinator is anyone who wants to organize a cleanup.  As a site coordinator registered with KGMB you can receive supplies for your cleanup event. If you have never hosted a cleanup or want to see what is new, please click here for a brief informational tutorial.

 

 

City of Milwaukee 2021 Neighborhood Cleanup Box Program

 

 

This program, through the Department of Public Works, will provide cleanup boxes for organized cleanup events each Saturday from April 17th through July 31st excluding July 3rd.  Boxes are placed between 2am and 10am and picked up the same day after 4pm.  Boxes can be reserved by calling 414-286-3345 or online at milwaukee.gov/neighborhoodbox.

 

Mobile Tool Shed

Do you have a large cleanup group (40 or more participants)?  You may want to consider reserving our Mobile Tool Shed (pictured below).  It must be reserved at least two (2) weeks prior to event and will be delivered to your cleanup site.  There is a $40 delivery/pickup fee.  Mobile Tool Shed availability March 1st – October 31st.  Please click here for more information.
