Wellness Program Packs
Learn about the seven dimensions of wellness with our range of wellness programs. KGMB believes that wellness is an active process where individuals become aware of and then make choices to move towards a state of complete physical, mental, social, and environmental well-being. The seven dimensions of wellness include: environmental, physical, social, emotional, intellectual, occupational, and spiritual. These programs are great for after school, during school, and home school groups! Please contact the Education Coordinator for information on scheduling. KGMB is an approved MPS Wellness Vendor for After School and CLC programs.
The Wellness Wheel
This program explores the 7 dimensions of wellness through a series of games and activities. Students complete individual and group challenges to earn wedges to complete their wellness wheel. Students play active games to learn about emotional wellness and how to deal with stress, complete team challenges to build a strong community for social wellness, and explore and enjoy the outdoors to learn about environmental wellness. School Seeds to Sprouts Program
Do you want to get growing in the dirt? The School Seeds to Sprouts Program helps your classroom or after school program start and successfully maintain a raised bed garden. A KGMB Wellness Educator will visit your school to help construct a raised garden bed and then provide several site visits throughout the year to help your students learn in the garden. Lessons are aligned to NextGen Science Standards and WI Nutrition standards. This program can be done at your space or, if you don’t have the space or interest in caring for a garden full-time, can be held at one of our locations! Contact the Education Coordinator for pricing, which varies based on transportation needs and raised bed startup costs.

Kindergarten students explore patterns and systems through caring for their garden bed and exploring how humans impact the environment. In the fall students will harvest veggies, exploring the wide variety of different colors and tastes available in their local garden. Students also go on a scavenger hunt to learn about human environmental impacts as they are introduced to the Leave No Trace Principles. In the winter students will investigate what plants need to survive and how humans can reduce their environmental impact through a tour of the Materials Recycling Facility. Finally, in the spring students will plant new seeds in their garden bed. They will experiment with the different needs of plants such as how much water, how much space, and how much light plants really need. Join us for a year of investigation and learning fun! This program can be done as 3 full day programs or as 9 90 minute programs. An additional late spring or summer visit can also be added to cover plant care such as watering, pruning, and weeding.
First Grade Program
First grade students focus on exploring the structure and function of different parts of the plant. In the fall students learn to identify the different parts of a plant and while harvesting different things in the garden, explore the seeds. Students use the power of the sun to roast seeds for a fun and healthy snack. During the winter the students learn about the different structures a plant can use to protect itself. Finally in the spring, students learn about the plant’s life cycle as they plant seeds and ready the garden for another growing season! This program can be done as 3 full day programs or as 9 90 minute programs. An additional late spring or summer visit can also be added to cover plant care such as watering, pruning, and weeding.
Second Grade Program

Second grade students build on their understandings of structures and functions to explore cause and effects. In the fall students harvest a variety of items from the garden and conduct a variety of experiments on how plants need and use water. Students harvest items from the garden and taste test dried versions of the food to create a Venn diagram. In the winter students learn about pollination and learn how it is both a cause and an effect! Students participate in a STEM design challenge to create their own hand pollinators. Finally in the spring students evaluate their garden area for all of the different bugs that make the garden thrive! This program can be done as 3 full day programs or as 9 90 minute programs. An additional late spring or summer visit can also be added to cover plant care such as watering, pruning, and weeding.
