Service Learning Opportunities
KGMB facilitates a number of service learning projects whether they be for indidivuial students, groups, or entire classrooms. We work with you to design a perfect project. Explore a sample list of K-12 Service Learning Projects we have facilitated.
KGMB works with schools and educators to support their environmental education and stewardship goals. Throughout the year KGMB offers and facilitates grants that include school partnerships to support educational programing as well as increased environmental responsibility through improving recycling programs. Thank you for making a difference through your dedication to help your students’ access to environmental programming and your commitment to improving your schools sustainability. In School Recycling Programs and Assistance
Sponsored by Waste Management, this program offers technical assistance and education to improve your school’s recycling program. Working with your school’s green team KGMB will provide assistance in creating a more efficient and better utilized recycling program. This includes working with engineers as well as providing staff and student education. This grant is available to Milwaukee Public Schools.
Carton Recycling Program and Assistance
Sponsored by the Carton Council, this program offers technical assistance and education to begin capturing milk cartons (and other aseptic containers) in your recycling program. This includes working with engineers as well as providing staff and student education. Students of participating schools will also have the opportunity to participate in an art competition to promote carton recycling. This grant is available to schools in Milwaukee.
City of Milwaukee Recycling Programming Mini-Grant
The City of Milwaukee sponsors a limited number of the free recycling presentations for students. The program: It’s in Your Hands: Recycle for Good! is a 60 to 90 minute program that introduces students to the 3 R’s. For more information on the program, visit our programs page. You will be prompted to apply for the grant when you register for the program by entering Promotion Code “MKESchool”. This grant is available to schools, public and private, in the city of Milwaukee.
